Preconference Workshop

Developing an Infrastructure to Combat Structural Racism within Essential Hospitals

Join us to evaluate the current climate of structural racism in essential hospitals and develop an action plan to create an infrastructure promoting antiracist policies, processes, and culture, inside and outside hospital walls.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • identify institutional practices that reflect structural racism and bias;
  • discuss best and promising practices to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion inside essential hospitals and in service to their communities; and
  • share strategies and interventions to disrupt the continued and harmful effect of structural racism and bias on communities.

Through small and large group discussion and action planning, attendees will:

  • identify policies and practices that impede health, health care access, and equity;
  • develop mitigation strategies; and
  • examine policies, practices, and processes that encourage workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion.
