Is America’s Essential Hospitals requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for all attendees?

America’s Essential Hospitals is requiring all event attendees to be up to date on vaccines against COVID-19 before participating in any in-person association event.* We are working with CLEAR Healthpass to collect and process the vaccination documentation and more information will be made available closer to the event.

This requirement is consistent with the association’s policy for our staff and is becoming standard practice for in-person conferences and other events and activities.

*In accordance with America’s Essential Hospitals policy, up-to-date vaccination status is defined as having received the last required dose of a CDC- or WHO-recognized COVID-19 vaccine and a follow-up booster shot, if applicable, at least two weeks before the start date of the conference or event.

Who should attend VITAL2022?
Our diverse array of attendees are responsible for the leadership, operations, patient experience, quality of care, finances, and continued success of essential hospitals.
What is the recommended attire?
Business casual attire is appropriate for all conference events.
What are the dates and locations of future annual conferences?
  • VITAL2023 will be at the Loews Chicago Hotel, June 14–16, 2023.
  • VITAL2024 will be at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, June 19-21, 2024.

What does my registration fee include?

The registration fee includes:

  • all conference functions;
  • opening reception the evening of Wednesday, June 22;
  • breakfast Thursday, June 23, and Friday, June 24;
  • Gage Awards luncheon Thursday, June 22; and
  • VITAL2022 digital program book, abstracts guide, session materials, and attendee list.
Are there any registration discounts?
The early registration deadline is April 29 and other discounts may apply.
What is the registration deadline?
You must register by April 29 to receive the discounted member rate of $1,145 (a $150 savings). After that date, the fee will increase to $1,295 for members. Nonmember registration fees range from $1,595 to $3,000. Please check the registration page for details. Onsite registrations will be accepted with valid credit card payment.
Whom can I contact with questions?
I would like to present at a future VITAL conference. How do you choose presenters?
Our conference features sessions based on member proposals and selected by member volunteers with staff support. We also present sessions developed through direct invitations by the association. The VITAL2022 call for abstracts is now closed. Visit essentialhospitals.org often for more information on the VITAL2023 call for abstracts, which will open in fall 2022.
